This is my final squat at Nationals, Krista is at the back of the plarform coaching me through every movment. I am very proud of this squat, as I have been having form issues and I my main objective at Nationals was to over come them. This squat is a new PB and a turning point for my lifitng career.

Krista is back this weekend!
I am very excited about the fact that my hero will be back to cheer me on at Nationals on the weekend. She will then be in Brisbane for 5 days to do follow up Biosignature, and to see new clients. 10 days to Nationals!
I am usually totally freakin out by this stage pre comp, but I am very relaxed right now. I weighed in at 59.9kgs this morning and I have been keeping my calories up and have dropped all training except my lifting sessions. I plan to weigh in around 59kgs so I will start taking sodium and other foods out of my diet that causes fluid retention from Saturday to drop a little weight, but in any case it is very relaxing being under weight already.
My bench has increased over my last comp PB and I do my last deadlift today. Last week I pulled 2.5kgs under my PB so this looks great as well for a comp PB increase. My squat strength has increased but I am having technique issues, so I have remained on 100kgs for 2 weeks to sort that out. Assuming it all looks good now I should be able to get a good last lift in on Saturday.
I think the other reason I am relaxed is that I am finally doing the work I have wanting to do for ages and Bodyworx is really firing. Being happy make a huge difference.

This weekend I am off to Melbourne for the All Females Bodybuilding comp. I am going to catch up with some clients, and hang out at the comp with Lindy, Lia and all the girls from the forum....I get 4 days off training and it can't come soon enough. These past few days I have been quite fatigued, but it is the first time this preparation that I have felt like this which is a vast improvement from other comps. One more training day till my "mini break".

So this weekend it will be Melb, coffee, and fun!!!!

Rest and Recovery weekend


It is Sat morning and I am about to go and do a sauna protocol. It has been a week of heavy lifting in gear, intensity and volume. My joints are aching a little today and I am generally fatigued although I feel stress free. A 90 minute sauna session will be just what I need to relax and recover, then I think I will take myself off to see Sex and The City - finally.


3 weeks to Nationals and I am strong, fit and more relaxed than ever before a competition. This last cycle that Krista designed has been wicked and I am a total convert to the Poliquin training and nutritional methodologies. - lucky cause I have just paid a fortune to get myself certified this year.


Well - I need to rest for the next 2 days - getting HUGE and STRONG for Nationals, then more of the same for Worlds......

Below parallel rack squats

This is a great exercise to work through sticking points in the execution of a squat. The rack is below the normal depth of a squat, you pause for 1 second then drive back up again.......ouch!

New training Bench Press PB - 75kgs
It seems that a little extra food and body weight combined with a very intensive training cycle does Make you stronger and bigger.
My previous PB of 70kgs- which I had plateaued at since Aug last year, has been improved and I am now at 75kgs. It was a good lift with more in the tank.
My decision to go up a weight category looks to be paying off already!
